In 2016 SatosanMetals continues a line of minted 1oz. silver products. The second issue of the BU struck round called “Asahi”. The premier 2015 issue was dateless and the final mintage was 300 pieces. The 2016 “Asahi” round is edge dated and numbered and will start with serial number 0301. Each round is edged numbered and will be accompanied by a numbered COA starting at 0301.
This medallion is modeled after the 1 Yen silver crown that circulated through Japan and Asia during the late 1800 and early 1900’s.
A beautifully struck satin finished medallion that is marked on both sides with weight and purity. The obverse a dragon, billowing smoke and fire, clutches the pearl of wisdom and is marked “480” for 480 grains “Silver” and “999” purity. At the top of the medallion is the makers mark 砂糖山 メタールス “SatosanMetals” The reverse is the rising morning sun 朝陽 ”asahi” and is marked “one troy ounce 999/1000 silver”.
Currently the serial numbers for the first strike 2016 edition are 0301-0400. There were 10 authorized gold plated limiteds produced serial numbers 0311, 0322, 0333, 0344, 0355, 0366, 0377, 0388, 0399, 0400.
